Peer Reviewer Process

SEHATI: Jurnal Kesehatan dan Keperawatan Terintegrasi applies a peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, novelty, and scholarly contribution of every published article. All submitted manuscripts undergo professional, objective, transparent, and academically rigorous evaluation in accordance with the journal's standards.

1. Initial Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the SEHATI Open Journal System (OJS) in accordance with the journal's prescribed template and submission requirements.

2. Editorial Screening

The editor conducts an initial screening to assess:

  • The manuscript's relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
  • The completeness and structure of the manuscript.
  • The quality of academic writing.
  • Compliance with the Author Guidelines and journal template.
  • Manuscript originality and plagiarism-screening results.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected at the initial screening stage without proceeding to peer review.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

SEHATI uses a double-blind peer-review method, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process to maintain objectivity and the integrity of the evaluation.

Each manuscript will be evaluated by at least two reviewers with relevant expertise and competence in the field of the submitted research.

Reviewers will evaluate the following aspects:

  • Originality of the research.
  • Novelty and scholarly contribution.
  • Clarity and appropriateness of the research methodology.
  • Quality of analysis and discussion.
  • Relevance and quality of references.
  • Consistency of the findings and conclusions with the research objectives.
  • Quality of academic presentation and writing.

4. Review Decision

Based on the reviewers' evaluations and editorial considerations, the editor may issue one of the following decisions:

  • Accepted — The manuscript is accepted without revision.
  • Accepted with Minor Revision — The manuscript is accepted subject to minor revisions.
  • Accepted with Major Revision — The manuscript requires substantial revision before it can be considered for acceptance.
  • Resubmit for Review — The manuscript requires further revision and must be resubmitted for another review process.
  • Rejected — The manuscript is rejected because it does not meet the journal's scientific, ethical, or submission standards.

5. Revision Process

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts based on the comments and recommendations of the reviewers and editor within the specified timeframe.

Authors must submit the revised manuscript and, when requested, provide a response to each reviewer comment. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

6. Final Decision

The final publication decision is made by the editor based on the results of the peer-review process, the quality of the revisions, and the manuscript's compliance with the journal's standards and policies.

The editor has the authority to accept, request further revisions, or reject a manuscript based on academic and editorial considerations.

7. Publication

Manuscripts that have been Accepted will proceed to the final publication stages, including copyediting, layout, proofreading, and publication preparation.

The article will then be published in the appropriate SEHATI issue according to the journal's publication schedule, in June and December.
