Publication Ethics
SEHATI: Jurnal Kesehatan dan Keperawatan Terintegrasi is committed to maintaining the integrity, quality, and ethical standards of scholarly publishing in accordance with academic standards and the principles of transparency. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, and reviewers, are required to adhere to the following publication ethics principles.
1. Duties of Authors
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works, have not been previously published, and are not under review or consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors must present research data and findings honestly, objectively, and accurately, and must avoid any form of manipulation, fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
Authors are required to:
- Properly acknowledge and cite all sources used in the manuscript.
- Avoid plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification of data.
- Ensure that all individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research are appropriately listed as authors according to their contributions.
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- Ensure that the manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to or published by another journal.
- Revise the manuscript in accordance with comments and recommendations from reviewers and editors.
- Take responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the article.
Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism or other ethical violations may be rejected. If a violation is discovered after publication, the article may be corrected or retracted depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
2. Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for determining the suitability of manuscripts for publication based on scientific quality, originality, relevance, contribution to the advancement of knowledge, and alignment with the journal's focus and scope.
Editors are required to:
- Conduct the editorial process objectively, fairly, and without discrimination.
- Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and the identities of authors and reviewers.
- Avoid and appropriately manage potential conflicts of interest.
- Ensure that the peer-review process is conducted professionally, transparently, and in accordance with journal policies.
- Make publication decisions based on scholarly considerations and the results of the review process.
- Address suspected cases of publication misconduct appropriately and promptly.
3. Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers assist editors in evaluating the quality, originality, and scholarly contribution of manuscripts through the peer-review process. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and relevant evaluations to help improve the quality of submitted manuscripts.
Reviewers are required to:
- Maintain the confidentiality of all information contained in the manuscript.
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively based on academic and scientific considerations.
- Provide constructive comments and recommendations.
- Report suspected plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or other ethical violations to the editor.
- Avoid conflicts of interest in the review process.
- Complete reviews within the designated timeframe or promptly inform the editor if they are unable to complete the review.
4. Publication Decisions
Publication decisions are made by the editor based on the results of the peer-review process, the scientific quality and originality of the manuscript, its contribution to knowledge, and its suitability for the journal's focus and scope.
The editor may decide to:
- Accept the manuscript without revision;
- Request revisions;
- Request further review following revision; or
- Reject the manuscript.
Publication decisions must be based on academic considerations and must not be influenced by personal characteristics, institutional affiliation, race, religion, gender, nationality, or the author's background.
5. Plagiarism Policy
SEHATI applies an anti-plagiarism policy to all submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism-detection software before or during the peer-review process.
Manuscripts that demonstrate an unacceptable level of similarity or are found to contain plagiarism may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may issue a correction or retract the article in accordance with journal policy.
6. Open Access Policy
SEHATI supports the principles of open access to promote the broad dissemination and use of scholarly knowledge. All published articles are freely accessible for educational, research, scholarly, and professional purposes, subject to the licensing terms applied by the journal.
7. Ethical Oversight
Research involving human participants, animals, organizations, or sensitive data must be conducted in accordance with applicable ethical principles and research standards. Authors are responsible for obtaining ethical approval, research permits, informed consent, or other required permissions from the appropriate authorities when applicable.
Authors must ensure the confidentiality and security of research data and protect the rights, safety, and well-being of research participants.
8. Retraction and Correction
SEHATI is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. The editor may publish corrections, clarifications, or retract articles when substantial errors, plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, research ethics violations, or other forms of publication misconduct are identified after publication.
Any correction or retraction will be handled transparently and accompanied by an appropriate explanation in accordance with the journal's policies.
